Interns may work with The Strong\u2019s collections, research, education,&nbsp;exhibit development, graphic design,&nbsp;or marketing and communications teams to support the museum and its International Center for the History of Electronic Games, Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, Woodbury School, and&nbsp;<em>American Journal of Play<\/em>. For example, students may conduct research for exhibits, learn how to handle and care for artifacts, or assist with the development of educational programs for children. Specific internship opportunities are listed below. However, The Strong is open to creating individual internship experiences based on the interests of the intern and available projects at the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Like all Strong staff, internship applicants must consent to a criminal background check and a drug screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Undergraduate internships require a minimum of 125 work hours; graduate internships require a minimum of 140 work hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must attend all training sessions and meetings required by their supervisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must keep a journal to document their experiences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduate students also may be assigned readings and\/or a research project (to be determined by their faculty sponsor in conjunction with their internship supervisor).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit completed internship packets to Human Resources, The Strong, One Manhattan Square, Rochester, NY 14607 or at <a href=\"mailto:hr@museumofplay.org\">hr@museumofplay.org<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please include all of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.museumofplay.org\/app\/uploads\/2023\/05\/The-Strong-General-Internship-Application-2024.pdf\">internship application<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Letter stating personal interests, reasons for wanting to work at The Strong, desired learning outcomes for the internship, and potential benefits to The Strong<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>R\u00e9sum\u00e9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Letter of recommendation from a faculty sponsor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Strong will consider each student\u2019s interests and determine whether an appropriate project is available.
